About The Project

Chairished is a prototype eCommerce application that sells and delivers chairs... and only chairs. From office chairs to the fanciest lounge chairs on the market, the concept was to express the value of a niched brand with a focus, not on volume, but on quality, with the chairs using highest quality materials and fashioned together with care to create a memorable experience each time a person sits down. Users can customize, shop, pay, and track their orders using the application's interface, with a full inventory control system available through the Administrator Interface (AI).


One of the key challenges to designing any system is creating a balance between design and functionality. The application must be visually appealing and easy to use, while also providing all the necessary features and functionality for customers to browse, customize, and purchase chairs. Achieving this balance between aesthetics and functionality requires careful planning and testing to ensure that the application meets both user and business requirements.

Another challenge of designing an application prototype for a chair company is integrating complex ordering and inventory systems. This includes managing orders and automating the delivery process. Additionally, the application must be able to handle multiple payment and shipping options, as well as provide real-time updates on order status and delivery timelines.

In order to develop an application to market chairs in a modern fashion, we researched different furniture store sites and applications before laying out a rough design.
We strove to design a furniture application that is both modern and usable by using a simple color palette to bring attention to the products and Call-to-Action (CTA) tactics within the app. We also used a typeface we felt brought a sleek, professional, and modern element to the overall design.

  • Order Details: Users can access details of their previous, pending, and confirmed orders.
  • Online Payment: The feature allows multiple payment options for easy business.
  • Push Notifications: Timely notifications alert the users about app updates, order updates, etc.
  • Delivery Details: All information related to delivery like pick-up time, delivery time, location, etc. are available.
  • Shopping Bag Feature: The shopping bag feature allows users to add items for easy access.


We believe our overall design definitely hit the mark of making a furniture application simple but not boring. We dedicated a lot of time to the project and we were happy with the final design, although we might be slightly biased.
